Welcome to The Blackwork Guild.

The Guild has been formed to focus only on the art of blackwork, it's past and it's present use within the world of embroidery. I have for many years been totally fascinated by the different patterns and how they first orginated centuries ago. It has been a most difficult journey gathering a collection to create designs and instruction books, and because of the problems I went through, I decided to form an area which provides access to vast quantities of source information which can be found more easily.

The Guild will provide members with history references, patterns, stitching techniques, links to specialised blackwork designers, books and much more. There will eventually be a members forum where you may contact fellow blackwork embroiderers and designers.

There are many embroidery guilds around the world which focus on the most popular forms of embroidery, such as cross stitch, and the aim of the guild is to bring blackwork on parr with them.
