There are many designers who specialise in the art of blackwork embroidery and work possibly from home, and they can be found in various ways, through magazines, providing a project for the reader to work and an article about themselves, a website, advertising in magazines and attending shows. All of these ways do come at a very expensive cost, and don't always reach the people who matter.
In this part of the Guild, the designer may advertise their work with several photographs, details of where to find their website, describe the type of design work they produce, and include as much information to help promote themselves. There is no charge for this promotion, and the only requirement is that you are a member of the Blackwork Guild. This provides you with a year's advertising at the cost of your subscription.

The following list of requirements are needed to create you advert:

1. Your full name.
2. The town/country you come from.
3. An attachment of your website banner (if you have one) or the style of font you use. If you have neither, an advert may be designed for you, provided you supply the description of what you provide to your customers.
4. Photograph attachments of example kits, etc which you sell. Remember, any photographs you provide need to be clear and blurr free. This will give the customer a good idea of the work you provide.
5. Contact details for your customer.....e-mail address, telephone number, address.
6. If you hold workshops or attend shows, provide a list of the venues where you exhibit and hold meetings, or state that this information may be found on your website.
7. Plus anything else you may include which will help promote your work.
8. All attachments can be sent to the email address below.

If you have advertised in magazines you will probably have some idea of the size and contents which you have used. Space is limited, so make sure you provide all the key elements with plenty of bright, clear pictures, and this will have the required effect. There are a few examples below to help you design your own.
